Meghan A. Blanco

Meghan Blanco has over a decade of experience litigating complex matters in state and federal courts throughout California. In 2009, she was appointed Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California. During her tenure as a federal prosecutor in the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office’s elite Public Corruption and Civil Rights Section, Meghan served as lead prosecutor on close to 100 criminal matters. In that role, she successfully investigated and prosecuted an array of criminal offenses, including bribery, extortion, obstruction of justice, false statements, fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, identity theft, deprivation of rights, murder, drug crimes, gun crimes, government theft, contraband in prisons, child pornography, immigration offenses, conspiracy, interstate stalking, interstate threats, and bank robbery. Having investigated, charged, and taken complex federal cases to trial, Meghan understands how law enforcement investigates cases, and how prosecutors analyze them. She is a criminal defense lawyer who uses her experience and unique insight to fight for her clients’ rights at every stage of prosecution – from the investigation through trial.

Prior to becoming a federal prosecutor, Meghan was an associate at the litigation powerhouse law firm, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she represented Fortune 500 companies in complex civil litigation and white-collar defense cases. Between 2008 and 2010, she served as adjunct faculty of law at her alma mater, Southwestern University School of Law.

Meghan graduated with honors from Southwestern in 2005, where she was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program, the Special Projects Editor for Southwestern Law Review, and a judicial extern for the Honorable Dean D. Pregerson. Meghan completed her undergraduate studies at San Diego State University, where she graduated valedictorian in 2002.
